At Camurus, we can provide support and guidance to help you through this process. We’ve already worked with many services across the UK and can share their experience and best practice to help you manage and implement Buvidal, whilst being mindful of the resource constraints many services are under.

With this in mind, we’ve developed some simple tools to help you project manage, including an Implementation Checklist and Project Tracker, which you can download and then adapt to your own requirements.

We have practical tools to assist budget planning and business case development, and we also have examples of best practice in commissioning from around the country, in the hope that these innovative approaches can help commissioners and providers elsewhere, better serve their local populations.

The Buvidal Cost Calculator is designed to support payors and providers who are budgeting for Buvidal as a treatment option for Opioid Dependence Treatment. It is intended to give budget holders a more complete view of the cost of treatment, rather than looking at the cost of medication in isolation.

It achieves this by factoring in costs associated with administration, supervision, and dispensing, so that budget holders can get an indicative view of their overall treatment costs and also make direct cost comparisons between different forms of Opioid Dependence Treatment. This is not a complete budget impact model as it does not include indirect costs, e.g. the costs of healthcare resource utilisation, social care resource utilisation or criminal justice interactions.

The cost input assumptions used within the model are based on credible published external data sources and all variable costs can be amended using service-specific local data.
