In this series of short video case studies, Dr Bernadette Hard, GP Specialist in Addictions, discusses with her patients their treatment experience with Buvidal.

It can be difficult for people to talk about their addiction and the impact it has had on their lives, so we thank everyone who has participated, for consent to share their lived experience with others.

Patient 1

Prior to commencing Buvidal, this patient reported significant anxiety with daily pharmacy attendance. They identified stigma as the cause.

The patient feels that Buvidal protects them from unwanted disclosure.

Patient 2

This patient had an extensive history of drug use and acquisitive crime.

They were able to stabilise on Buvidal and successfully transferred from a high intensity Criminal Justice Programme to a mainstream addiction service.

Patient 3

This patient has an extensive history of illicit substance use and has been in and out of prison due to criminal activity.

Access to the pharmacy is a challenge for this patient due to its location.

Removing the need to attend the pharmacy on a daily basis has been positive for him.

This patient is now focusing on building recovery capital.
